5 km Marathon at DAV Public School, Dehradun

In celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, DAV Public School, Dehradun, under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, organized a 5 km 'Run for DAV' marathon on 2nd October 2024. The event aimed not only to honor the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi but also to promote fitness among the young students of the school.

 

The 'Run for DAV' marathon was flagged off from the school premises by Major General KD Singh, accompanied by Madam Principal, Mrs. Shalini Samadhiya. Addressing the students and participants, Madam Principal expressed her gratitude towards DAV Sports for organizing such a meaningful and engaging event. She emphasized the importance of fitness in students' lives and how this marathon reflects both physical well-being and the values espoused by Mahatma Gandhi, particularly perseverance and community spirit.

 

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff members, all coming together to run for fitness and unity. The marathon proved to be a grand success, fostering a sense of camaraderie and instilling Gandhi’s ideals of dedication and self-discipline among the students.

 

The 'Run for DAV' concluded by encouraging the students to take forward Mahatma Gandhiji's values of simplicity and hard work in their daily lives, making the marathon not just a run for fitness, but also a tribute to the Father of the Nation.
